Can you tell what they are?
Come and get a close-up view of them.

Ta- da!

Bats‼️
They are bats‼️

From March to October, 1.5 million of bats would emerge from the gaps under the Congress Bridge nightly.
Besides, it takes 45 minutes for all of them to come out.  Kind of incredible, isn't it?

At first, Austin residents worried about that bats might cause diseases and infections.  After learning that bats eat tones of insects, they eventually coexist.
See!  That's the life cycle.

But, watch out!
If you choose the spot under the bridge like me, you may get bombarded by bats URINE.
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Feeling homesick?
Nope, not yet!
But you know,,,,,,
I can't live without rice.

Japanese curry.
Taiwanese rice.
American purple onions, tomatoes, and Chinese cabbage.

🎊Congrats on myself.🎊
Finally I can cook perfect rice with the stove.

Observation- 2

How stupid I am!

Two days ago, I was quite frustrated why my listening was so POOR.  Why I couldn't understand any single word they spoke.

He, he,,,,
Because they are DORA, Diego, and their families.  Most of time, they speak Spanish!  No wonder‼️‼️

Spending hours strolling in H.E.B (a super big supermarket), I found you can find a great variety of Mexican food, such as: taco, nachos, jalapeño and so on.  You name it!

Moreover, you even could buy different parts of PIGS and chickens here.  Namely, people accept giblets and viscus for their dishes.

They even have all equipment for baking.
Look at the short videos.
It's making tortilla, which is the main food for Mexicans.

One more interesting item I found is Tamales, which is wrapped the meat, veggies and dough in corn husk or banana leaf.

Will you give it a try?
I won't as I'm traveling alone and I'm a 飯桶 as well.

My favorite breakfast corner in Hi Austin Hostel.

The breakfast items are fewer than Hi Houston.
The bed isn't as comfortable as others, either.

Far as it is, it's just next to Lady Bird Lake, near the riverside.
There's a trail along the Colorado River and you can see people running, cycling and walking dogs in the morning and evening.

Yesterday, it took me more than 40 minutes to walk to downtown.  It's definitely beyond my imagination how hot it is.  Walking under the sun made me feel my calves were burning.  Meanwhile, I was wondering how people can survive in such a scorching city in summer.

When Texas Capitol stood in front of me, I was too exhausted to take pictures of it, let alone pay it a visit.

On the contrary, I looked up the map, found the bus stop and jumped on the Bus 3 to Austin Central Library.

Oh, man.  Austin Central Library is NOT JUST a library.  It's open, modern, and spacious.  They also provide diverse programs to o meet different ages of people.

Various of luxury chairs and sofas are everywhere.  A mini cafe is also attached  to the second floor.  There are also two outdoor sections for reading, eating, chatting and relaxing.  To my surprise, the rooftop garden is just like jungle cafe.

When you visit Austin, spend US$2.5 for a 24-hour bus pass and bring your sunblock and a big hat with you.  The most important is to pay Austin Central Library a visit.  It won't let you down.
